Computer Classes

A lack of essential computer training can be a barrier to gaining information and employment. Computer training for members of new and emerging communities is being held in partnership with the MRC, medical student Peter Sturgess and the Australian National University.

The MRC is offering training from its computer lab to the members to assist them to become proficient in their use of internet, email and Facebook.

The 12-week course has been oversubscribed and feedback highly positive. A second round of computer training will be held in May 2008. The course is an ideal opportunity for migrants and refugees unfamiliar with the use of computers to learn the most basic and essential skills.

Migration Agent

The Migrant Resource Centre of Canberra and Queanbeyan now offer a free migration advice clinic.

A registered migration agent will be available to assist you once a fortnight on Thursday from 2pm—5pm.

As only three clients can be seen during this time an appointment is necessary. Clients who fail to attend their appointment without notice will not be given priority in the following session.

Our agent will be able to provide advice at that time but will not provide an ongoing service.
